Florence – Randall Dwayne Harlow, 72, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home in Florence. He was born August 14, 1944 in Benson, MN, son of the late Jim and Evelyn Harlow.
He grew up in Benson, MN for his first 10 years living the farm life and then the family packed up and moved to Oregon where he graduated at Coquille High School in 1962. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy where he spent a year clearing the Pacific trail. He settled down and met his first wife Gloria Tinker which was short lived. His next job was at JC Penney Auto Center where he met Victoria Sappington. He then moved to Tacoma, WA where he then married Vikki, the mother of his two daughters, Angie and Marcy. After that his career began with Northwest Airlines in 1969 which led him to Portland, OR where he resided for 17 years. His marriage had ended and he then married Carol in 1978. They moved to Memphis, TN in 1986, Nashville, TN in 1995 and when Randy retired, the couple moved to Florence, MT to be near his daughters and watch his grandchildren grow. Together they found the Florence-Carlton Church. Our beloved Carol lost her battle with cancer in 2010. Randy eventually joined the church choir where he met Sylvia Russell and they became very special friends.
Randy was a loving man with a kind and gentle spirit. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Randy enjoyed gardening, yard sale-ing, fishing, wood working, singing, traveling on his motorcycle, loved serving pie and hugging all of the ladies and on top of his list was spending time with family and friends.
Randy is survived by his daughters, Angie Gascon and Marcy Hawkinson; stepsons, Brian and David Keith; six grandchildren, Tanner, Wade and Jake Gascon, Alexis Taulbee, Tyson Hawkinson and Holden Keith; sister, Barbara (Randy) Davidson; brother, Jimmy (Vada) Harlow; and sister, Debbie Harlow.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Florence-Carlton Church with Pastor David Blackwell officiating. A graveside service followed at the Carlton Cemetery with a reception following in the church’s fellowship hall. Whitesitt Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
