The Hamilton softball team flexed their muscles this weekend with wins over valley rival Corvallis and then in Butte at Butte Central on Saturday. Hamilton’s pitcher, Sky Lopez, picked up her first no hitter over the Maroons on Saturday. She only allowed four hits against Corvallis.
Hamilton topped Corvallis at home on Thursday, 14-3. The Lady Broncs got on base early and knocked two runs home in the first inning. They continued to build their lead behind the pitching of Lopez. Kelsie Meis was the catcher for Hamilton.
Caitlin Dillon went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs. Rachel Richardson hit 1-for-2 and knocked two runners in. Tessa Della Silva was perfect at bat, hitting 2-for-2 and had a double. Sophia Doll also had a double as did Rachael Ringer. Mallory McGill went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.
Kambre Powell went 2-for-3 for Corvallis and had a double. Maria Hickey, the Blue Devil catcher, went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Lopez and Meis teamed up in Butte for the 16-0 blowout which was a conference win. Butte Central suffered a major loss during basketball season when their catcher was injured and is out for the season. The Maroons woes continued as veteran pitcher Kloie Thatcher was injured on Friday. Hamilton wasted little time and put six runs across the plate in the first inning. They continued to build up runs for two more innings to hit the 15-run benchmark where a game can be called after three innings. Final score was 16-0.
McGill, Richardson and Hayley Hudgins all hit home runs. Richardson was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a double. McGill also went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a double. Hudgins went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a double. Ringer went 3-for-3 with three doubles and two RBIs. Lopez had a double and three RBIs.
