Here we go again. We just finished another election cycle in November with all the negative attack ads appearing on our local TV channels. Just like a bad penny, they are back again. First we have behind door number one – the Judicial Crisis Network. A multi-million dollar out of state PAC that chooses to run attack ads against Senator Jon Tester with, of course, “fake news” claims.
Behind door number two, we have the Congressional Leadership Fund, another out-of-state super PAC with a war chest of over $33 million. They are choosing to attack candidate Rob Quist. Again they are spreading a rash of untruths without any supporting evidence or by using a few words taken out of context.
I am tired of big out-of-state money organizations trying to influence our state elections. Will you join me in boycotting this advertising on our local news stations? I am pledging to not watch the local news (typically when these ads are run) until after our special congressional election. Then let your local stations know that we are not watching local advertisers because they choose to run these vicious attack ads.
Thank you. We will not have a valid election process in this state or country until the “big money” factor is removed from campaigns.
