This was a tough weekend for the valley’s girls basketball teams with only Victor coming away with a win. Victor topped Hamilton took on the tough Dillon team and although they played a close game, the Lady Broncs couldn’t pull past Dillon. Florence sustained their second loss of the week and the season when Bigfork upended them. Stevensville had the weekend off although they lost to Hamilton last Tuesday.
Victor jumped out to an early lead and went on to top Phillipsburg, 40-27. Payton Tillotson led the Lady Pirates with 12 points and Jamie Burdett added 11 more. Victor has all of their players eligible after transferring into Victor.

Victor traveled to Seeley to take on the league-leading Lady Blackhawks on Saturday. Seeley won, 55-16. Tillotson had eight points to lead the Lady Pirates.
Hamilton couldn’t find an answer for Dillon’s Brynley Fitzgerald or Kylie Christiansen in their game on Saturday. Although Hamilton was never trailed by more than seven and was within a field goal a time or two in the second half, they couldn’t take the lead. Dillon won, 45-38. Mallory McGill led the Lady Broncs with eight points.

The Blue Devils took on Butte Central in Southwest A action. Corvallis fell behind in the first quarter and was never able to recover in the 66-47 loss. Penny Jessop led the Blue Devils with 13 points.

Florence was not able to stop the Bigfork Vals in the fourth quarter and fell, 60-49. The Lady Falcons played right with Bigfork in the first half and only trailed by one point at the break. But then Bigfork toughened up their defense and went on to win. This was the second loss for Florence as they lost to Ronan in overtime last Tuesday.

Friday night’s game between Seeley-Swan and Darby matched up the top two teams in District 13C with neither team having a conference loss. However the larger, more physical Seeley team quickly came out and controlled the tempo of the game. Darby was unable to work the ball inside throughout much of the first three quarters. Seeley went on to win, 72-36. Sarah Costello had nine points to pace Darby.

Darby got off to a slow start against Clark Fork and could not overcome the Mountain Cats. Clark Fork went on to win, 50-40. Costello had 10 points to lead Darby.
