Well, here we go again. I’m part of the majority of Americans who didn’t vote for Donald J. Trump for president in 2016. But I think I’m a patriot and I believe every new leader deserves a chance to see what they can do for the good of the country. I gave Mr. Trump the benefit of the doubt and was willing to wait and observe how he would perform once in office.
It didn’t take long for that experiment to go up in flames and reality has now set in that we have a truly scary, self-centered individual at the helm of this nation. I’m a thirty year military veteran and I know the difference between leadership and Management-By-Intimidation (MBI). I was fortunate enough to serve in the same Army Division in Vietnam as Colin Powell, a true leader and fellow patriot. Gen. Powell’s parents were Jamaican immigrants and he grew up in Harlem. He led by example throughout his career, both military and civilian.
Donald Trump is not a leader by any stretch of the imagination and practices MBI to the 10th degree, as evidenced by his actions during his first week in office. He is not acting for the good of the country, but for the core base that supported his candidacy from day one.
So here we are. We have an immoral, trashy real estate mogul from Jamaica Queens (not Harlem), NY representing the United States for the entire world to see. The Trumpmeister’s idea of leadership is firing people at will like he did on his crappy, fake reality show and then proudly exclaiming “see what I done?” In Trump World . . . that’s real leadership.
