I am an 11-year-old Boy Scout from Troop 1115 in Florence. I read your newspaper every once in a while, and I really like it.
I am writing to you today because I believe, to attract more juvenile readers, it would be very nice to have a section of a page devoted to comic strips. The reason I suggest this is because: some nonreaders may start reading it, which could draw them to the other articles.
To achieve this goal, I think that a good idea would be to hold a contest for local artistic kids who are interested in writing the comic strips. That might help you to see who is best fit for the job. The contest might be weekly, and you would publish the best for that week, or even monthly!
