Library Christmas Crafts
North Valley Public Library is hosting a free Christmas arts and crafts programs for families, teens and children of all ages on Wednesday, December 21 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room. Make ornaments with beads, paint, glitter, and much more. Library art leader, Pam, will show you how to get started and help you along the way. Be as creative and elaborate as you want! There will be snacks and plenty of art supplies, but sign up in advance so the library can prepare. Sign up by emailing danielr@northvalleylibrary.org or call the front desk at 777-5061.

Avalanche Safety Class
An avalanche safety class will be held Thursday, December 22 at 6 p.m. at the North Valley Public Library. This will be an introduction and refresher to avalanche awareness and safety presented by Missoula Avalanche. The presentation includes video, slides, discussion and Q&A session. Topics covered include recognizing avalanche terrain, how avalanches form and release, how to read and interpret the avalanche advisory, basic safety equipment and more. The West Center MT Avalanche Foundation (WCMAF), in partnership with the Lolo National Forest provides the website (missoulaavalanche.org) for posting of avalanche advisories and other information pertinent to avalanche awareness for winter backcountry users. The WCMAF along with the Washington Coastal Marine Advisory Council sponsors avalanche awareness training throughout the season. CSL Sunday Service
“A Conscious Candlelighting Service” will be offered on Sunday, December 25 at 10 a.m. on this very special of days, at the Center for Spiritual Living in hamilton. You’re invited to participate in a celebration of consciousness. Stevi UMC Vespers
When you’ve opened the presents, eaten the turkey, watched football, and gotten to the point of wondering, is this what Christmas is all about? then come to Stevensville United Methodist Church (corner of College and E. 3rd Streets) for a service of Christmas Vespers at 5 p.m. This is a quiet service of prayer, taken from the Book of Common Prayer, and will help you to remember and celebrate what is the real meaning of Christmas.

Darby Techie Table to benefit food bank
The Darby Community Public Library’s Techie Table Challenge returns Tuesday, December 27. Participating kids can help Darby fight hunger, while also honing their science and engineering skills. Participants will compete to design and build structures from non-perishable groceries, and after judging, the groceries will be donated to the Darby Bread Box. Community members can also help out by donating non-perishable food items for the project. Both canned and boxed foods are needed and may be dropped off at the Library during regular business hours.
The Techie Table will be held at the Library on Tuesdays, December 27, January 3, and January 10 from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. Judging is January 10th at 5 p.m.
