No one can know what the future will bring until it happens. However, since the election, hate crimes and bullying have increased across the country, and there is a movement to wear safety pins in obvious places on our clothing to show that we will do our best to protect the safety and well-being of any person who feels threatened.
Sporting a safety pin doesn’t make you a liberal or white or straight. We are simply people who don’t believe anyone should be subjected to prejudice or violence and who want to stand up and say so out loud for their sake.
Please join us, and if you have extra safety pins, you could even share.
