Michael Paul Hoornbeek, “Mike” or Beek,” was born in Los Angeles, CA to Paul and Marjorie Hoornbeek.
He spent his youth playing football and pestering his younger sisters, Penny and Cathy. Mike joined the Navy and served his country for four years. After the Navy, he became a skilled electrician and led many major jobs in California. Mike and his sons, Michael and Brian, met Cecilia and her daughter, Brenda, and soon married. They fell in love with Montana on their honeymoon and purchased an old house on a beautiful piece of property up Burnt Fork Creek. Retiring in Montana, they enjoyed many years with friends, family and grandkids until Cecilia became ill with cancer. Losing her jut six months ago was devastating to Mike. He did, however, accept Jesus as his Savior just before her death. Still in his own home, Mike went to join his wife on July 1, 2016.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife and granddaughter, Sunny. He leaves his children, Brenda (Paul) Hoyer, Brian (Doreen) Hoornbeek, many grandchildren and even nine great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Memorial services for both Mike and Cecilia were held July 9, 2016. Condolences may be sent to 362 Sunrise Ave., Stevensville MT 59870. Memorials may be made in Mike and Cecilia’s honor to Wounded Warrior Project.
