Quilt Show
The Sapphire Quilt Club is sponsoring a Quilt Show on Friday and Saturday, July 8 and 9 at Stevensville High School located at 300 Park Street. The club has several raffles, including two baby quilts, one for a boy and one for a girl as well as the usual baskets of fat quarters. The purpose of the club is philanthropy and education. The “Sunshine Quilt” is the club’s main project. Members create and give away quilts to people in the Bitterroot valley who have a personal tragedy such as illness, accident, fire, etc. The Sapphire Quilters want people to know that they care about them.
The featured quilter for the show is Mary Hayes who is one of the club’s talented quilters. Mary is a teacher of many different techniques and enjoys her craft very much. She will have a special display of her work at the show.
Our featured artist for the show is Sally Johnson. Sally created the artwork that the club used for this year’s posters. The original piece of artwork will be raffled at the show.
There will also be a variety of vendors and door prizes. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Come by and have fun looking at all the quilts and maybe you’ll even win a door prize.
