Whether Republican, Independent or Democrat, your vote for PSC Commissioner for District 4 may have a multiplied effect, if there’s a good sized vote for Cooper for PSC Commissioner of District 3!
Perhaps you too thought the Montana Public Service Commission (PSC) was baffled by the Mountain Water case! And observed that two of the five Commissioners of the MT PSC were bamboozled by Northwestern Energy!
(After all, what does one expect from termed-out, corporate funded citizen legislators getting inside position to run to represent corporate interests; in balance with voting residents in one of the 5 PSC Districts in Montana?)
Caron Cooper PhD, of Bozeman, announced her candidacy for District 3 PSC Commissioner, on March 19, and the news went right past me, and maybe most everybody. Later, on April 5, the Montana Cowgirl blog posted the news of the PhD PSC candidate from Bozeman announcing that she would not take PAC money, saying she is open minded about more alternative energy independence in Montana. And went on to mention PSC members receiving election contributions from NorthWestern Energy, noting that PSC District 4 Commissioner Bob Lake received election contributions from NorthWestern Energy when he was a State Representative.
On April 7, the blog Intelligent Discontent commented on, and posted a link to, the Cowgirl column about Caron Cooper PhD, candidate for PSC District 3. And went on and commented on and posted a link to always reliable Mike Dennison, writing for MTN News. Read there about PSC Commissioner Bushman, who is now not likely to be re-elected. Remember he, with PSC Commissioner Bob Lake, voted in the 2/3 minority to make NWEnergy customers pay for what appears to me to be corporate negligence.
From what I’ve gathered, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle has some of the rest of the story, also a 4/16 LTE from Margot Kidder.
From what I have gathered, the Caron Cooper announcement is not yet printed by the two newspapers of The Missoula Group of Lee Inc.
