Hamilton softball team wins two

The Lady Broncs softball team put two more marks in the win column over the weekend, notching wins over Corvallis and Loyola. Hamilton defeated Corvallis, 14-1, on Thursday. Then, on Saturday, they rolled over Loyola, 17-0. Freshman Jordan Taggart was in the pitcher’s circle for both games and only allowed four hits in both games. Their record is now 5-1 in conference play and 5-2 overall.
Hamilton hit in seven runs in the first inning against Corvallis. They finished with 12 hits in the game and no errors. Kelsie Meis had a home run and two RBIs. Rachel Ringer also had a home run and an RBI. Kloie Nye went 2-for-2 at bat and finished with three RBIs. Caitlin Dillon was 2-for-4 with two RBIS and Mallory McGill went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Brooke Huxtable also had an RBI and was 2-for-3 at bat. Kira Doyle had an RBI for Corvallis. Hannah Capko, Hannah Brown and Bobbie Stephen were all 1-for-2 at bat for Corvallis.
Hamilton topped Loyola in a non-conference game that was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule. Meis and Ringer again had home runs. Meis had five RBIs and Ringer knocked in three runners. Meis was 3-for-4 at bat. Ringer went 2-for-2. TeaAnna Rouse had two RBIs and went 1-for-1 at bat. The Lady Broncs didn’t make an error in the game.
Columbia Falls came from behind to top Stevensville, 8-6. The WildKats hit three runs in the seventh inning to take the win. Haley Kampka was the pitcher for Stevensville with Dani Trangmoe the catcher.
Corvallis lost to Butte Central 16-0 in three innings and Florence lost to Anaconda, 12-2 in six innings. Natalie Drozdz went 2-for-3 at bat with a home run and an RBI.
