Dr. Amy Berglund, a Stevensville chiropractor, is currently at the Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Lake Placid, New York where she is working with the USA Bobsled and Skeleton Teams.
As a Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. Berglund was invited back to work at the Olympic Training Center. Her first rotation occurred in August 2014 where she worked with the USA Bobsled, Luge, Skeleton and Aerial Ski Teams.
As well as working on the track with the USA Bobsled and Skeleton Team this March, Dr. Berglund will also work closely with the head athletic trainer, on-staff chiropractor and the medical doctors at the Olympic Training Center clinic. USA Sports Medicine uses a multi-disciplinary approach to treating athletes, which is the same model Dr. Berglund uses at her own Headwaters Wellness Center practice in Stevensville.
In addition to working at the Olympic Training Center, Dr. Berglund was also the only chiropractor for Team USA at the 2015 World University Games held in Granada, Spain. While there she provided medical care to USA Freeski and USA Snowboard teams. In 2013/2014 she also worked with the Slopestyle skiers and Snowboarders on the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, CO.
Dr. Berglund is one of only 300 chiropractors in the U.S. with a Diplomate in Sports Medicine (DACBSP), which requires an additional two years of post-doctoral study. She is one of only two doctors in Montana to hold a DACBSP, as well as one of only two doctors in Montana who are Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Physicians (ICCSP).
When not traveling with Team USA, Dr. Berglund can be found working at her Active Care Family Chiropractic office at The Headwater Wellness Center in Stevensville. She and her staff offer a full range of treatments to keep you performing at your best. For more information about Active Care Family Chiropractic, visit: www.activecaremt.com or call 777-1048.
