I was happy to stay out of the fray until I read “Local churches extend welcoming hand.” Now, I will not stand silent when the teachings of my Master, the Lord Jesus Christ, are so grossly distorted.
I will address a few of the lies: “Its (the Bible’s) movement is toward the unity of peoples … “ This is an outright distortion! Christianity is definitely not toward the unity of peoples. Hebrews 1: 1 defines the time since the incarnation of Lord Jesus as “these last days” and Lord Jesus, the Christ, said He came to divide (Luke 12:51-53, Mat.10:34) Second Corinthians 6:14-18 could not be clearer: God’s people are to be separate!
There is a definite plan for unity – both religious and otherwise – that can be seen all around us. It is not of the One, True and Living God! It is of Satan!
For the second part of the above quotation: “ … and love for our neighbors–even our enemies.” Christians are commanded to love their neighbors and their enemies. And that “love” is defined by Scripture. The Biblical term means love in the social or moral sense. Very explicitly, God’s people are commanded to obey the second table of the Ten Commandments with respect to their neighbors and enemies.
“God promised Abraham that through him ‘All the peoples on earth will be blessed’. “ This is an abysmal violation of context. Read Genesis 12:2 & 3. The salient, but not only, way that all nations are blessed by God’s people is that God calls His people from all nations. Read Matthew 28:19.
Foreigners were welcomed by the Children of Israel as long as they conformed to the Religion, God’s law, governing the Israelites. Omitting that fact is another violation of context, this time the broad context.
Dear reader, exercise caution! This wicked letter is clearly written from the perspective of Humanism, another religion entirely, one warned against as early in Scripture as Gen. 3:5. This will not make sense to you until you realize that the word “knowing” carries the weight of “determining” here. This is the offer Satan made to Eve and she fell for it, in both senses of the term!
