Victor – Glenn A. Hendrickson of Victor, MT passed away on March 4, 2016 in Hamilton, Montana.
He was born in La Junta, Colorado on January 4, 1931 to Charles Ralph and Bonnie Ray Hendrickson. He grew up in the small town of Swink, just five miles away. He enjoyed many adventures as he grew, among them were exploring the Arkansas River, being an enterprising newspaper boy for the Pueblo Chieftain, and training horses. Though we didn’t know of “whisperers” in those days, he certainly had a gentle way with horses. Any abandoned dog “followed” him home. In his adult life he was employed by Holly Sugar Company for 47 years and was stationed in Swink, Hereford, Texas; Sidney, Montana; and Brawley, California. He was a volunteer fireman for many years, serving as Chief in Hereford.
Glenn was a humble, gracious and gentle man, protector of the weak and supporter of those who were struggling. A kind brother, husband and father, he leaves his wife of 65 years, Mary Lea, and three children, Alvin (JoAn) of Victor; Patricia (Richard) Priest of Portland, Oregon; and Jon Paul (Dona) of Clovis, New Mexico. He also leaves his brother, Leo (LaWanna) and sister, Kay (Gary) MacLaren as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss the gentle ways he cherished them.
A man of faith, he was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Stevensville, Montana.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Victor Cemetery.
