Quran quoted incorrectly

November 25, 2015 by Guest Post

Reading in last week’s opinion I saw the Quran being quoted, however, the quote was incorrect. 5.32 is often misquoted to make Muslims look as if they are a peaceful religion. What the quote 5.32 really says is For that cause we decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. The verse mostly refers to Israel, not Islam. However, the part about corruption of the land refers to words or actions that come into conflict with Islam. The Quran says that the presence of disbelievers causes confusion and corruption in the land and Muslims must join together to oppose them 8.73. What is left out after 5.32 is also the next verse 5.33 which says The only reward for those who make war upon Allah and his messengers and strive after corruption in the land will be they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate side cut off. 5.34 says Save those who repent before ye overpower them for know that Allah is forgiving. This means if you don’t convert to their Islamic religion you will be killed. Once again, this is not a religion of peace but one that wants to kill those who do not convert to their religion. I don’t feel safe with them here in my country or in my town. This is an aggressive religion.

Donna, I cannot credit you as an expert if you are not willing to come out and talk in person, and I suspect that you have never, in fact, met a Muslim face to face. If you are a Christian, it is against your God to spread evil and/or fear. It’s as simple as that.
