Get over it

October 22, 2015 by Guest Post

This is in response to Mary Fahnestock-Thomas. You sound like many of the uneducated Americans that have not ever picked up a Koran and read it, nor have you studied anything about the religion.
Why would I not want Muslims here, here are several reasons. Do you know that there are 190 verses in the Koran that call Muslims to war with non-believers for the sake of Islamic rule? They are commanded to chop off heads, fingers, and to kill infidels. Just to make that clear, that would be YOU! or anyone who does not believe in their religion. They also want to force Sharia law, and in case you don’t know about it, here are two of the laws. First, it allows husbands to hit their wives and second, it commands homosexuals to be executed. That is not the kind of religion I feel safe with being around me.
Just so you know, there are Confederate flags in the valley and again, since you don’t understand history, they were not an expression of slavery but of a divided United States. The South chose this flag to represent their new country, not slavery. The ignorance in this country is astounding these days.
You say you would like to talk about differences. Number one, the Koran tells all Muslims to lie. So it does not matter what you say or they say, they will lie to you. Second, have this discussion, Confederate flags were about States’ rights.
Yes, there was slavery in this country. I had a white great grandmother who was a slave. What about the slaves in Egypt? What about slavery going on now in other counties?
It happened, get over it. There are none alive that had anything to do with it. It was history and I do not want to see my history disappear because of plain ignorance. We need to study these things so they do not happen again.
