History may have been made last week at the Ravalli County Fair when four sisters took championships in four different classes in the Sheep Barn. Keinna Chavez, Alyssa Chavez and Ashley Chavez brought home grand championships in junior showmanship, senior showmanship and intermediate showmanship. In addition, Ashley, who is in her fifth year in 4H, also had the grand champion market lamb. Alyssa is in her sixth year and this is Keinna’s second year in 4H. They are members of the Bitterroot Wranglers 4H club in Victor. Their youngest sister, Alaina, won the Kiddy Lamb class for those kids eight years old and younger. All agree that it takes a lot of hard work, exercise and doing it every day to become a champion. One other member of the Bitterroot Wranglers 4H Club also had a stellar fair. Brandon Wiren, also pictured, won the Overall Junior Sheep Exhibitor award. He is 9 years old and won seven blue, grand and/or reserve champion ribbons including the overall supreme champion female.
