The Frenchtown boys and the Frenchtown girls may have taken the team trophy at the Ronan Canal Bank Run last week but it was a couple of cross-country runners from Hamilton that took first in the event.
The Hamilton boys took second in the event behind Meikle’s time of 16.03. He was 30 seconds faster than Jaiden Rowe of Frenchtown. Matt Wilson of Hamilton was third with a time of 16.47. The only other Hamilton runner who placed in the top 15 was Steven Banks in 7th with a time of 17.29.
Frenchtown took first in the girls division with a team score of 51. Hamilton was right behind with 55 points and Deer Lodge finished with 57. Jaycie Schmalz crossed the finish line in 18.59 to win the race. She was followed by Keelie O’Brien in second at 20.52.
