Hospital committed to serving community

August 4, 2015 by Guest Post

By Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Board of Directors: Don Lodmell, PhD, Board Chairman; Bill Bean, Board Vice Chairman; Tom Anderson, Barbara Ackerman, Susannah Benjamin, Frederick Ilgenfritz. MD, Allen W. Jones, MD, Brian Kelleher, MD, John Ormiston, James Owings, CPA

This year marks 84 years of Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital caring for our community. For the past 27 years John Bartos, CEO, has led the hospital to meet the healthcare needs of a growing community. Despite the complexity of the healthcare industry and its challenges, his leadership has kept the hospital financially solvent, increased medical staff, added healthcare services, state-of-the-art technology, patient-centered medical facilities, community health education, and created nearly 500 jobs in Ravalli County. These jobs have access to health and retirement benefits, financial performance rewards, and training.
Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is positioned to continue to meet the healthcare needs of our community, while being steadfast to its mission of delivering quality, accessible, personalized healthcare. In addition, the hospital invests into an employee driven Culture of Excellence Program and was voted this year’s Bitterroot’s Best Employer and in previous years, as well.
We are fortunate to have a not-for-profit critical access hospital in Hamilton to serve the medical needs of this county. We have an administration that looks ahead to the changing medical times and has made structural and financial changes necessary to keep Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in a position to provide much needed services such as: ambulance, cardiac, adult and pediatric rehabilitation, chemotherapy, home health, and hospice services, and hospitalist medical team. In addition, the hospital is a community partner and provides gifts of cash and in-kind for programs that offer a health benefit for the community and workforce development. Some of the programs are school nurse and athletics programs, patient financial assistance, and free health screenings and education. These services, jobs, and community support would not be in Ravalli County if the hospital administration did not care about the patients, community, and the hospital staff, and have foresight into the healthcare industry and needs of Ravalli County.
Today, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is a leader among the rural hospitals in Montana and other parts of the country, thanks to the leadership of our administrator, his team and the dedicated employees. The Hospital Administrator, John Bartos, answers to the Hospital Board. We are a volunteer group of diverse community members, including physicians, who exercise governance in overseeing the financial policies, quality of care provided and direction of the hospital.
We welcome your input on improving our community hospital; it is invaluable to us. You can contact us directly by writing to the MDMH Board of Directors, 1200 Westwood Drive, Hamilton, MT 59840. We treat all information with the utmost concern for confidentiality and will respond to you directly if requested.
Thank you for choosing Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital for your healthcare services.
