May this letter serve as an introduction to more than the idea of fund raising for a dream, but rather as a unique perspective from my view regarding the two hours that I enjoyed with a fine group of young people and their supervisors.
The flyer read, “Rent a skater – have a task for them? Clean your yard, sweep your business, just about everything.” My thoughts were I know that they can help. Because when you are moving, the number of tasks is overwhelming!
Sure enough, the team showed up with rakes and wheelbarrow and were ready to tackle a yard coated with leaves and branches from weeping willow debris.
One group tackled the front yard, another the back yard, and others helped as I directed to carefully pack dishes and china in the house.
Their vision of a skate park is apparent in the groups’ bright eyes and willingness to work quickly and diligently to complete the task at hand.
Young teens repeatedly sought out direction toward the overall mission of preparing a household for moving. Not only were they polite and friendly, but also full of that bigger than life itself enthusiasm that makes that age group so much fun to be around!
If there were ever a time in my life that I truly was and am grateful for the help, it was now. Perhaps you too have a long “back-burner” project that this team could easily bring to fruition.
A few hours with the help of six to ten individuals makes a huge difference in the amount of work that is quickly accomplished. I was floored by just how much they were able to do in just a couple of hours!
It is with deep appreciation that I have chosen to write a quick recommendation for the Stevensville Skate Park “Rental Team.” Help be a part of the future legacy that is now well under way for our community.
