Some time ago Representative Daines wrote a column to explain why we must repeal the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obama Care. The ACA requires all Americans to have health insurance that meets certain minimum requirements. It also prevents insurance companies from refusing to cover pre-existing conditions, and from dropping coverage when someone gets really sick, thus incurring huge medical bills.
Representative Daines is a good businessman who fully understands the principles of health insurance and why insurance companies must be able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions and drop sick people from coverage. Representative Daines knows that by repealing the ACA we can restore the ability of the health insurance companies to run their business on good free-market principles. By denying coverage for pre-existing conditions and dropping sick people from coverage, Representative Daines knows we can reduce insurance costs and keep our health insurance companies very profitable. The only way to do this is to repeal the ACA, as Representative Daines has repeatedly voted to do.
