Nonprofit Partnership
The Nonprofit Partnership will hold its quarterly brown bag on Wednesday, July 16 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Event Center. This meeting will be totally devoted to a review of the new BitterrootEvents.net website. The sponsors of the site will give a short overview and then open it up for questions and discussion.
Flower workshop
There will be a free floral design workshop on Wednesday, July 16 at 1 p.m. in the Floral Building at the Fairgrounds to practice making designs as designated in the Fair exhibitor handbook. This is a learning event for novices or those who want to improve their flower arranging skills. You will work as part of a team building a design and then discuss ideas for improvement with the group. All materials will be provided. Bitterroot College Advisory Council
The Advisory Council for Bitterroot College University of Montana will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 16 at 3 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Human Resources Council Building, 316 N. 3rd Street, Hamilton. The BC Advisory Council is a public board and welcomes members of the public to observe and participate at its meetings. Internet sales class
A seminar on “Internet Sales: Affiliate Marketing” will be presented by instructor Annette O’Leary-Coggins on Thursday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Internet based retail sales are projected to continue their double digit growth rate through 2017, expanding from the present $300 billion to $434 billion. Internet sales opportunities have changed the face of retail, making it possible for thousands of small firms to reach customers. Even if your business does not primarily sell through the internet, this class can help you to increase the effectiveness of your website by generating leads and sales through affiliate marketing. Affiliate Marketing is a performance-based, online marketing tool used to connect businesses with customers via an affiliate website. Businesses reward the affiliate website for customers generated. Affiliate Marketing provides a pathway for online income generation.
Annette O’Leary-Coggins (Web Consulting Depot) is an internet marketing expert in lead generation sites focusing on Direct Response e-Mail Campaigns. She has worked with large internet based companies such as Budget Blinds and Artesian Spas writing Sales Copy and SEO Content. Annette currently owns Web Consulting Depot, working with small local businesses advising them on how to improve their own marketing strategies via direct response internet marketing

Historical firearms demo
Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host Historical Firearms Demonstrations at Travelers’ Rest State Park in Lolo on Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Perhaps the most important tool used by the Lewis and Clark Expedition were the firearms used primarily to acquire food to feed the hard working explorers. Join local expert and re-enactor Lloyd Priest as he discusses which firearms the Expedition may have carried, how they were used and the advancing technology employed by the members of the party.
Lloyd will also be on hand to show how lead bullets were made in the field, as well as demonstrate the loading and firing of historical replicas of the rifles of the Lewis and Clark era. He will discuss firearms care, safety, and the history of these weapons of the past.
Following the demonstration, visitors can view an authentic, 1803 Harpers Ferry rifle, on display in the park visitor center. For more information call the park office at 273-4253.
Blood Drive
The American Red Cross strives to collect over 700 pints of blood to meet the needs of patients in this area alone. In the Montana service area every 27 minutes someone needs blood. Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital (MDMH) helps the American Red Cross meet this need by sponsoring blood drives four times a year. The next blood drive is on Thursday, July 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the hospital conference rooms B/C. To schedule your blood drive appointments, call Gary Schulz at 375-4451. North Valley Pachyderm Club
The North Valley Pachyderm Club will meet Friday, July 18 at 12 noon at the Frontier Café, Hwy 93 in Stevensville. Guest speakers will be State Representative Ed Greef and State Senator Fred Thomas who will be talking about Internet access and the Republican Convention. The North Valley Pachyderm Club meets the first and third Friday of each month from 12 noon to 1 p.m. The North Valley Pachyderm Club is an educational arm of the Republican Party. All are welcome.
Historic photo presentation
“The Montana Homestead Boom Photographed by Those Who Lived It” will be presented by Dean Hellinger on Thursday, July 17 at 6 p.m. at the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford in Hamilton. This digital photo presentation shows the historical Montana homestead experience and the world those pioneers created. These optimists originated from many different places, almost all of which were more suitable to agriculture than Montana. They were faced with creating homes, schools, churches and towns, as well as developing “dry land” agriculture for their new farms. These snapshots record the way it was in the early years, and inspire discussion of how the 1909 Enlarged Homestead Act forever changed the face and character of Montana. Back Country Horsemen
Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen host the second in their series of outdoor summer meetings on Thursday, July 17, at the Larry Creek Trailhead, located up Bass Creek Rd. Potluck dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and the general meeting starts at 7:00. The upcoming July and August trail projects will be discussed and signups for the fair start. Parkfit Fitness
FabYouLess Fitness is hosting Parkfit Fitness select Fridays from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the bandshell at Claudia Driscoll Park in Hamilton. Bike camp research trip
Are you a biking enthusiast? A field trip to check out the Twin Bridges, MT (pop. 360) Bike Camp will be held Saturday, July 19. The Bike Camp was built in 2009 in the town park and provides showers and camping for cyclists. The Missoula2Lolo bike trail will open in 2015. Can Stevensville create a Bike Camp of its own? Western MT Addiction Services will be holding a Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service “Let’s Control It” training on Tuesday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 209 N. 10th Street, Suite C in Hamilton. The Missoula Field Office of Senator John Walsh will conduct outreach hours in Hamilton and Stevensville on Wednesday, July 23. Walsh’s Field Representative and Marine Corps veteran Maureen Porter will be available to meet with constituents in Hamilton from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Planning Conference Room, Administration Building, 215 S. 4th Street, Third Floor, and in Stevensville from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Town Hall, 206 Buck Street. All constituents are welcome to visit with Porter to share concerns, information and ideas, and possibly open casework. No appointments are necessary.

International award-winning astronomer, Kevin Manning, brings his unique astronomy program, Astronomy for everyone: Size and Scale of the Universe” to the North Valley Public Library on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. Kevin has worked with NASA, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory, and the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Now retired, Kevin has created a mobile astronomy program that tours the country annually. Come and learn about the planets, stars, nebulae and more!
