I was driving up Middle Burnt Fork and looked over to the left at Burnt Fork Manor and saw a caregiver trying to get an elderly woman up off the icy and wet sidewalk where she had slipped and fallen. I had cars behind me so I went into a driveway, turned around and went back to help get the woman up. She was wet, her cane was down and she was a heavy woman. We couldn’t get her up so I went out on the road and waved at a vehicle and got the driver to stop and the three of us finally got that woman up. I thanked the other driver and she left.
The caregiver was worried and was a small woman like me. That elderly woman gave me a hug and she cried when she thanked me.
It is so disgusting that no one stopped to help her – no one! I had to force someone to stop and how wrong it is for no one to help someone who needs it urgently.
If people see things like this, they should stop and help, not go on by and ignore it.
I hope and pray for those of you who don’t stop to help that you won’t be ignored when you need help!
