The Darby boys finished fourth in the tournament and ended their season with a 13-9 record. The Tigers were up by a point with less than 20 seconds to go in the consolation game against Valley Christian when Isaiah Bohlken sank a long try to give the Eagles the 74-72 win and third place. Joe Caicedo and Zach McCrossin each scored 24 points in the game. It was Darby’s second loss to Valley Christian in the tournament.
The two teams opened their tournament play against each other. In that game, Valley Christian won, 81-70. Caicedo finished with 31 points and McCrossin had 15 points.
Darby then had to beat Lincoln and Philipsburg to advance to the consolation game. They topped Lincoln, 53-49. Caicedo had 24 points and McCrossin finished with 16 points. McCrossin sank six of eight free throws against Philipsburg and finished with 16 points in the Tigers’ 47-40 win.
Victor finished their season with a 13-8 record. They lost to Philipsburg in the opening game of the tournament, 43-19. They came back to defeat Alberton, 55-16. Nate Bishop had 23 points and Brady Tuttle scored 14 points. Their final game was against Valley Christian. The Pirates lost, 60-45. Michael O’Leary had 13 points and Nate Bishop finished with 16 points.
