December 17, 2013 by Editor

Stevensville – Anne (Casson) Sullivan died December 14, 2013 at Marcus Daly Hospice Center in Hamilton from the insuperable challenges of advanced age.

Anne was born May 5, 1912 in Chicago, IL. She was the

fifth of six children born to Hannah (Hartigan) and George Casson. Her parents and her brothers and sisters predeceased her. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ella Mae Casson.

Anne married Daniel Patrick Sullivan in Chicago on April 15, 1939. Anne and Dan were the proud and loving parents of Ann Marie, Marguerite and Daniel. Anne’s husband Dan died in March of 1976. She is survived by her children, Ann Marie Carbin, Marguerite Walz and Daniel (Lynda) Sullivan. Anne is also survived by nine grandsons, 17 great-grandchildren and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Anne’s family is deeply grateful to the caregivers at Valley View Estates and the Marcus Daly Hospice Center who surrounded Anne with love and with gifts of dignity and peace in her final months. In accordance with Anne’s wishes, donations in her memory may be sent to these special care homes or to local food banks.

A vigil service for Anne was held on Tuesday, December 17 and a funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Church in Stevensville. Anne will be cremated and her ashes will be interred with the remains of her husband and those of her parents at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Chicago.
