The commissioners of crazy town could be anywhere in the world but we of the Bitterroot Valley do not have to time travel to be in crazy town. The commissioners are nut jobs doing nut cases, or is it nut cases doing nut jobs? I will let you decide which way is most applicable.
In the movie adaptation of Ken Kesey’s novel “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, Jack Nicholson’s character escapes from the mental hospital and gets a big yellow bus that he uses to take his fellow patients fishing before being escorted back to the hospital. It would be nice if Nicholson’s character could drive that yellow bus through the West, picking up a cast of characters from Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and the Bitterroot Valley. I am asking the three county commissioners (Suzy Foss, Jeff Burrows and Ron Stoltz) to hop on the bus and take a long overdue rest at the Montana state mental hospital. Want to go along and take a trip and watch instability roll down the road? If you are an aspiring author/screenwriter, maybe a good title could be “Wing Nuts.”
