I would like to make everybody aware that September 8th-14th is Suicide Awareness/Prevention Week. I want to challenge you to do something to make a difference! Suicide affects almost everybody’s lives in some way or another. It is something that is claiming more and more people’s lives each year. It is something that people hesitate to talk about, but a word that can bring a ripple affect of heartache, tragedy and pain. So many of our friends, family, co-workers, church members, school mates, are struggling, thinking about taking their lives, but don’t speak out because suicide is something we keep in silence. I just want to say that I refuse to be silent and am stepping out to make a difference and am encouraging everybody else to do so also. Talk to people about it. Then when people need help they will feel comfortable asking for it.
