Stevensville – Donna Wwas born in upstate New York, Springville, and was adopted at birth by her aunt and uncle, Charles and Martha Nagy, and was raised between the Bronx, NY and Miami, FL. Charles, her father, was maitre d’ at the racetrack and moved between New York and Miami as per the race season. After high school, she entered nurse’s training at the College of New Rochelle, earning her BS in nursing.
She moved to Las Vegas, NV where she worked in the emergency room at University Medical Center. She later became house supervisor of nursing for the hospital and before retirement in 2003 was the Director of Nursing for three qµick care clinics of UMC (University Medical Center).
She married A.C. Anderson on June 27th, 1987 in Las Vegas and upon retirement moved to Stevensville, MT where she was director of nursing for the Bitterroot Living Center for awhile. She also showed entrepreneurial expertise as the owner/operator of the crafts store, Country Scrappin’ on Main Street in Stevensville for several years.
She is survived by her husband, A.C. “Andy” Anderson, Stevensville; daughter, Cheri Chicchetti, Stevensville; son, Charles Anderson, Las Vegas; son, Sean Anderson, Missoula; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stevensville on Friday, Aug. 2. The family asks that contributions be made to Montana Cancer Specialists of St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
