I read Mike Mercer’s LTE with a chuckle, not that it is funny, but sometimes you gotta laugh. He suggests that, yes, climate change is real, but doesn’t believe humans are causing it. This is the latest ‘last refuge’ of flat-lander climate change debaters. It is beside the point. Many disasters are a result of a combination of human and natural factors. We usually set about mitigating the disaster as best we can and save assigning proportional blame until later.
Wisdom and compassion dictate that we do whatever we can to diminish climate change, whatever the percentage contribution by human activities. We can argue that after the heat is off. If there are human made solutions to climate change, and there definitely are ways to mitigate it, let’s do what we can while we can.
