John Lee Adams

Victor  –  John Lee Adams, 74, of Victor, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

John was born on May 28, 1939 in Kellogg, ID to Jack Cleburn and Kathryn (Davis) Adams. After high school graduation, John went on to receive some college education and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years before receiving his honorable discharge.

John was married to Silvie Joann Lee on September 28, 1959. The couple lived in Fresno, CA and then on to Merced, CA. John worked for Pacific Gas and Electric. They then moved to Victor, MT in 1989 where he started his own business, “Happy Auto.”

John was a member of the Masonic Lodge for fifty years. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He also worked with Boy Scouts for many years. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he loved helping others. John always had a secret pocket which held treats for his grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Silvie Joann Adams at the family home in Victor; three daughters, Audrey Diane McCoy of Spokane, WA, Karen Denise Ruiz of Klamath Falls, OR and Julie Ann Adams of Bothell, WA; a sister, Judy Harding of Oregon; three grandsons, Jonathan Ward McCoy and Joshua Clinton McCoy, both of Spokane, WA and Samuel Ruiz of Klamath Falls, OR; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ruiz of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandsons of Spokane, WA.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Stevensville followed by a funeral service. Interment with military honors was in the Victor Cemetery following the funeral. Following the committal, a reception was held back at the church. Pallbearers were Jonathan and Joshua McCoy, Samuel and Michael Ruiz, Jay Hanchett and Kawelo Carlos. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
