Barnyard Games
The Barnyard Games will once again be held during Western Heritage Days. The games consist of a leaky pail relay, a stick horse pole bending race, and a bale-bucking relay. Teams are made up of two people. No horses are needed and the Western Heritage Days committee provides the stick horses. (They will be auctioned off after the event.) The events provide a lot of laughs and fun as contestants used speed and concentration to make it through the courses. But it’s not all fun and games. The winning team will take home $300, with $200 going to second place and $100 to third place. By the way, there’s no entry fee either.
The field is limited to 10 teams. These teams will be auctioned off at a Calcutta on Friday night. This will be held on Third Street next to the Stevensville Hotel, the same location as the games. The bidder who buys the winning team will take home a portion of the Calcutta proceeds. The remainder will go to the Stevensville Main Street Association.
