Looking ahead to new project

December 18, 2012 by Editor

I will acknowledge that this letter is late in coming, and I will assure Mr. Fred Thomas that I meant no disrespect in waiting this long to congratulate him on his victory in our race for State Senate District 45. I know that he will hold dear the needs of all of his constituents in Ravalli County and the State of Montana as he proceeds in the next two legislative sessions.
On a personal note, I can honestly say that in my 50 years, I don’t believe that I’ve participated in an activity that was more rewarding. I met many amazing people that care very much about what is going on in our state and our nation, and I had a great opportunity to tell people about the things that matter to me.
I honestly believe that what people most want to see from our representatives, on all levels of government, would be that they identify the issues that confront us, put politics and party aside, and start working together to solve them.
For my part, we still have many great things happening in our community, and it’s a pleasure to be a part of that. Lone Rock School is constructing a new gym at this time, we’re busy utilizing the Striving Readers Grant that our school is receiving, and now, we have a group of area Senior Citizens that have established a non-profit association to raise funding for the construction of a Community/Senior Center at the Ambrose Creek Community Park. This building will provide benefits to community members of all ages for decades to come.
All of these things were made possible by people working together for a common goal. There’s a great deal to be proud of here, and I know that all of us in this community would wish the same for the rest of you in the valley and the state.
