The smoke cleared over the weekend and allowed the valley’s cross country runners to enjoy one of the prettiest runs on their schedule, Hamilton’s own Daly Mansion meet. The day is filled with running events. Early morning community runners had the chilly chance to run the course that winds around the grounds. After the high school races, junior high students took to the course for an abbreviated run.
The Hamilton Broncs won both the boys’ and the girls’ scoring in the six-team field. Anthony Schmalz and Easton Albert, both of Hamilton, crossed the finish line at 17:06 and 17:07 minutes respectively. Karille Appendaile finished fourth and Greg Beck was fifth for the Broncs.
Hamilton placed three in the top five for the girls. Jenny Smith was second with a time of 20:33. Kaitlin Stromberg finished third and Sara Amish was fourth for the Broncs.
