Ed Greef is again running for the House of Representatives and I want to say what an honor it was serving in the legislature with him. I would also like to thank the good folks from Ravalli County for electing him to represent them in Helena. He served with dignity and honor and made his decisions based upon what was best for his constituents and the people of Montana.
What did Representative Greef help to accomplish in the last legislative session? Along with other states in the nation, Montana suffered from the “great recession”. For the first time in history, State spending was cut with the utmost care, using a zero based, prioritized budgeting process, to reduce waste and increase efficiency in government.
Montana’s Workers’ Compensation was the highest in the nation which is a job killer. He helped to get it reduced and more in line with other states; a primary goal for job creation in our state. The permitting process for our natural resource development was streamlined and Ed was instrumental in that—another important jobs bill. He was insistent on defending our state’s rights to reign in an over-reaching federal government and defending personal property and individual rights. We reduced business equipment tax to help attract more business to Montana. These were all top priorities and Ed did an excellent job in seeing them accomplished. We need people like Ed who can get the job done.
