Dear Editor,
Nancy Ballance is our choice for House District 89, and if you are concerned about our state’s future, she should be your choice, too. While other candidates ‘talk the talk’ about everything they’ll do for you when they get to Congress, Nancy is already ‘walking the walk’ and has been for some time, even though this is her first run at political office.
If you’re concerned about Montana’s economy, Nancy’s already working for you. She was instrumental in helping to draft the Bitterroot Natural Resource Plan, a document that will become the cornerstone for working with federal agencies to reopen the logging industry in the Bitterroot.
If you’re concerned about our kids’ education, Nancy’s already at work there as well. She is a current member of the Hamilton School Board and has been a strong advocate for educational excellence, helping to found the ‘Montana Citizens for Excellence in Education,’ a citizens’ group committed to restoring our schools’ focus on curriculum and educational excellence.
And if you have healthcare concerns, Nancy’s working for you there, too. Her work with the state legislature in the last session resulted in passage of the Interstate Healthcare Compact, which would have returned healthcare rule-making and funding back to Montana rather than leaving it in the hands of the federal government, had it not been vetoed by Governor Schweitzer.
So, when it’s time to cast your ballot, don’t bet Montana’s future on a candidate’s promises. Instead, take a hard look at what they’ve already done for you. We think that hard look will convince you that Nancy Ballance should get your vote. She’s got ours!
