The Florence boys team finished second behind Thompson Falls at the Western B Divisional in Corvallis. The Falcons were led by Dylan Reynolds. He won the 300 hurdles, was second in the 400, third in the long jump and second in the triple jump. Reynolds also ran a leg on the first place 1,600-meter relay team. Joining him on that team were Brady Blomquist, Madison Bolton, and Tanner Cobs. Bolton finished second in the 800 in a very close race with Loyola’s Cody Burke. Bolton was fourth in both the 1,600 and the 3,200. Brady Heffner was sixth in the 100 and the 200. Brady Blomquist was third in the 200 and third in the 400. Cobbs was fourth in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles and Tanner Lund was sixth in the 110 hurdles. The Falcon 400 relay team was second behind Thompson Falls. Aaron Ward finished fifth in the triple jump. Kyle Shorten was sixth in the discus.
The Florence girls finished third behind Plains and Loyola. Freshman Hannah Porch led her team with a win in the triple jump where she marked 35 feet even. She was second in the 200 and the 400, fourth in the long jump, and ran a leg on the 400-relay team which finished second. Tess Porch was second in the 100, fourth in the 200 and the 400, and fifth in the high jump, and also ran on the relay team. Hannah Sax finished fifth in the 100, and third in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Jessica DesJarlais was third in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Rosie O’Brien finished fourth in the javelin. Callie Hunt took third in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump.
The top six finishers in each event will advance to the state meet in Bozeman this weekend.
