The Corvallis Blue Devils topped Belgrade, who finished third in the state last year, 9-6, in non conference action on Saturday. Ashley Johnson had two RBIs and was 3-for-3 at bat to lead the Blue Devils. Whitney Jessop had a double and was 2-for-3 while Gianna Schrock had and RBI single.
Corvallis lost to Frenchtown on Thursday, 11-1, in another non conference game. A sacrifice fly by Alex Ewing became an RBI when Gianna Schrock crossed the plate in the first inning for the Blue Devils’ only run.
Florence won both games of a double header against Loyola in Missoula on Thursday. Florence won the first game, 2-0, and then went on to blank the Breakers, 6-0 in the second game. Courtney Byrne pitched both games for Florence. In the first game, she allowed only two hits and didn’t walk anyone. She had five strike outs. Hayley Cole had a single, and Paige Bodner was 2-for-3. Byrne also had a double. In the second game, Florence broke lose in the sixth inning for six runs. Bodner had a 2RBI single. Hailey Huot had an RBI double.
