I recently attended the presentation on wolverines by Doug Chadwick in Hamilton. It was a standing room only crowd. I learned about wolverine biology, the rigors of scientific studies, and land management needs to protect this animal. I felt Chadwick was a seasoned speaker and the large, diverse crowd seemed to appreciate his humor, humility and expertise.
The talk was informative and research based. It was pleasantly reaffirming that a meeting focusing on wildlife and wild land management issues remained polite and science based.
I would like to thank Friends of the Bitterroot and Bitterrooters for Planning for hosting this event. I hope future meetings, whether at the federal, state, or county level which address environmental concerns, are equally grounded in civility and science.
