Dear Editor,
I want to thank my good neighbors and other considerate people who travel Middle Burnt Fork Road at a slow speed that does not raise dust. I have tested this out and when I drive 15 mph I do not see a dust trail behind me in my rear view mirror. I’m sure that all who live on MBFR will join me in thanking you.
As for the others, I beg, plead, would go down on my knees begging you to slow down. Vehicle after vehicle tear down that road raising a cloud of dust 30 feet in the air. There is heavy traffic of huge trucks and other large vehicles which raise even worse dust. Traffic is diverting from Missoula and Hamilton to avoid the construction on Highway 93. Need I say more?
I have heard that the paving will start on the east end of MBFR (if ever.) If any member of road department, city or county reads this please consider starting the paving at the comer of Main Street and MBFR. It only makes sense. There are more homes, people there. As you go down MBFR the houses are farther apart, farther back off the road. In other words, less people eating dirt. How about some max 15 mph zone signs on this road until it is completed?
Hopefully, when this letter is published the paving will have started. If not, I beg of you that unless your wife is in labor, you have an urgent restroom call, you are about to miss your plane in Missoula or are being chased by the cops, SLOW DOWN!
The residents of MBFR are losing their summer because of this situation.
