Board members of the Sunnyside Cemetery Association have decided to replace the fence surrounding the cemetery located on Three Mile Creek Road northeast of Stevensville. The plan, according to the Association’s Chairperson Don Wilson, is to construct the new fence in phases starting on the north and west borders as monies become available.
“The new fence will be maintenance free and durable enough to withstand a lifetime of Montana temperatures and yet protect and enhance the beauty of the cemetery grounds,” said Wilson.
The Association is seeking donations to pay for the improvements. No donation is too small, but a $12 donation will pay for one foot of fencing. A donation of $60 buys five feet of fence and qualifies you as a Bronze level donor. Silver donors get 10 feet of fence for $120. Gold donors get 15 feet of fence for $180. Anyone donating $192 or more gains Platinum status.
A plaque “In Memory Of,” will be displayed on the information board at the cemetery with the name of the donor or a loved one. Some history or additional information on those to be honored should be included along with the donation, which is tax deductible. Donors will receive a receipt and a certificate of appreciation, as well. Checks should be made payable to the Sunnyside Cemetery Association and mailed to P.O. Box 471, Stevensville MT 59870. For additional information contact Don Wilson at 777-2371.
