Darren Newsom, owner of Bitterroot Valley Ammunition and Components (BVAC), an ammunition manufacturing company in Stevensville, is looking for another location in the Stevensville area to set up another facility, following a deal he recently signed with a new business partner in the Philippines.
Newsom said that he has been working on developing the new partnership for quite some time and is excited that the deal has finally been struck. He said although the company being set up will go under a different name, the product will be basically the same, high quality ammunition.
Newsom said that he is looking closely at a property near Stevensville and will be employing at least 30 workers at the new plant and probably more after the factory gets up and running. Newsom said that BVAC is not shutting down, but will continue to be operated in tandem with the new factory. The new company will also be opening a facility in the Philippines.
