Don’t know about the rest of you, but I am tired of reading the letters written about the Commissioners, and the Hamilton Airport. I stop reading after the first paragraph. They’ve been long, confusing and boring. I went to the meeting, at the Commissioner’s office, today. Here is the short version of what happened. The meeting was held only to have the public weigh in on whether or not the airport decision should voted on by the public. The Commissioners did not vote to put that decision to a public vote. BRAVO. 90% of the people who testified said that they elected the Commissioners to do a job, and part of their job was making these kinds of decisions. The other 10% felt the public should vote on this issue. Where do we draw the line about what should be put to a public vote and what is the Commissioner’s job? If we vote on everything that happens at the County level, how would we ever get anything done? We wouldn’t need Commissioners. Don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend $20,000 of tax payers money to hold an election. We voted these Commissioners in by a large majority, and we should have confidence in what they do.
