DESCRIPTION:This new documentary celebrates the extraordinary lives and achievements of four Montana women who played important roles in the development of our state: Sarah Bickford\, Rose Hum Lee\, Susie Walking Bear Yellowtail\, and Stevensville’s own Maggie Smith Hathaway. These strong women came from humble beginnings\, overcame obstacles and endured tragedy\, and went on to achieve feats that helped shape Montana as we know it today. After the film\, Senator Diane Sands will lead a follow-up discussion and Q&A session. \nTwo viewings available\, both with Senator Sands as presenter: Tuesday\, Dec 6 at 12pm and Thursday\, Dec 8 at 6:30pm. Registration required. \nFilm produced by NXNW (North by Northwest) and the Extreme History Project with support from The Montana History Foundation\, Humanities Montana\, The Montana Film Office\, and the Greater Montana Foundation.

SUMMARY:Wild & Weird Wednesdays with Science Officer Lisa
DESCRIPTION:Explore the universe\, both micro and macro\, and learn the science mysteries behind the natural word. \nExpect fun activities with Legos®\, paper planes\, food\, and more. Children will soon be formulating their own hypotheses\, experiments\, and documentation in order to participate in a grade-free science fair at the end of the summer. \nThis November\, there will be two weeks of wild & weird science.  Be sure to register as this program will get filled soon and we need to know how many supplies to have on hand. \nStarting December\, frequency will increase to weekly. Concepts taught are geared towards ages 8-12\, but younger scientists/siblings 6-7 welcome. Parents/caregivers must register themselves as well as each child attending.
