DESCRIPTION:You are invited to watch a video called “Is 100% Clean Energy Possible?”\, an interview of Dr Mark Jacobson\, a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University\, on the Energy Central Podcast Network. Dr Jacobson gave testimony on the feasibility of transitioning to 100% renewable energy at both Children’s Trust cases brought by young plaintiffs in Montana over the States refusal to do anything about climate change. Dr Jacobson has maintained\, in numerous peer-reviewed articles\, that transitioning all sectors of the economy to 100% wind\, water\, solar\, with battery backup\, is technically feasible and would confer many environmental\, health and economic benefits. His work had its critics\, but Dr Jacobson has been thorough in defending his results and we think it will lead to an interesting discussion\, so please attend.

Bring your completed entry for the 2024 Quilt Show on June 8-9\, as well as the UFO (Unfinished Objects) sheet from April to participate in this year-long activity.  \nBitterroot Quilters Guild is a non-profit organization\, and contributes hundreds of quilts annually to organizations in the Bitterroot Valley such as Ravalli County First Responders\, SAFE\, Headstart\, Hospice and more. The group also funds an annual scholarship to high school seniors\, as well as an annual grant to deserving organizations. To fund these activities\, the Guild sponsors a Boutique at the Ravalli County Fair\, and will hold a Quilt Show on June 8-9 at Bitterroot Furniture. DESCRIPTION:Region 2 biologist Rebecca Mowry will be the guest speaker at the October 21st meeting of the Ravalli County Fish & Wildlife Association. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Daly Leach Community Room\, 1010 W. Main\, Hamilton. Rebecca will provide information related to CWD in Montana\, including how it affects your hunting plans\, (especially if you are planning on hunting in areas where CWD has been detected.) Although CWD has not yet been detected in the Bitterroot\, hunters should still be aware of CWD symptoms\, testing protocols and current regulations pertaining to management of the disease.
