DESCRIPTION:HELP YOUR PET FIND IT’S WAY HOME! \nSadly\, statistics indicate that missing pets rarely find their way home. Approximately 10 million pets are lost or stolen in the United States each year and more than 6 million winds up in the nation’s animal shelters.  Given that dogs and cats in shelters without ID are much less likely to be reunited with their owners\, identification is the only way these lost pets will find their way home. \nThe Bitter Root Humane Association wants to reduce those sad numbers and in celebration of “National Tag Day” will be offering reduced prices on micro-chipping and engraved ID Tags.  Saturday\, April 1st from noon to 4pm\, the public may purchase engraved ID tags for $5 and have their pet micro-chipped for $10…or both\, with no appointment needed!  For your pets safety please have all dogs leashed and cats crated when entering the building. \nToday and every day\, make sure your pets are equipped in the event they get separated from you.  It can be truly heartbreaking to lose a pet\, but by tagging and micro-chipping you are more likely to reunite with your four-legged family member! Running Saturday\, February 11th through Saturday\, February 18th\, our adoption fees for adult dogs & cats is being reduced with an approved adoption application; fees for adult dogs $100.00 and adult cats $50! These discounted fee prices also include our “Cat Buddy Program”\, where you can adopt two adult cats for the price of one. Community members age 55+ are eligible to adopt a senior pet\, seven years of age or older\, under our “Senior to Senior” Program with fees waived completely.  All the adoptions include spay/neuter\, vaccinations\, micro-chipped and engraved ID tag! \nIf you’re ready for love\, have room in your heart & home\, now is the PURR-FECT time to adopt your new lifelong friend. Do yourself a favor this holiday season and skip all the fuss of baking those holiday sweet treats and waiting in long lines to buy gifts by attending this unique “Cookie Walk\, Bake Sale & More” on Saturday\, December 7th\, hosted by the Bitter Root Humane Association. \nTalented area bakers have been busy whipping up their favorite holiday cookies in every flavor\, shape and size.  Shoppers can tour the cookie tables and choose their favorites in any quantity (sold by the pound) and stock up on all the other individually priced sweet treats of pies\, cakes\, breads & candies.. and of course there will also be goodies for our four legged furry friends!  To round out the event\, some great gift & decorating items\, including unusual cookie jars & tins\, handmade holiday stockings & holiday jewelry along with whimsical pet items will also be on the sale tables to treat yourself or all those lucky folks on your holiday shopping list! \nTo accommodate our shoppers\, this year’s event is being held at the larger and accessible St. Francis Pastoral Community Center\, 411 S. 5th Street in Hamilton with plenty of parking available in the back parking lot.  Doors will be open 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. on Saturday\, December 7th.   Plan to come early for the best selection since this event has sold out early in the past three years! \n  \nAll proceeds from the sale will be used by BRHA to assist animals in need throughout the coming year.  For more information contact Mary at 642-3785 or email at dogmommary@aol.com \n  \n
