DESCRIPTION:At the Thursday\, February 20 meeting of Trout Unlimited\, TU special projects manager Christine Brissette will present “What’s new at TU\,” an overview of current and proposed BRTU projects. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Elks Club\, 203 State Street in Hamilton. The public is invited to attend and there is no charge for admission. \nBitterroot TU has been working to make our fishery – and fishing – better since its inception in the 1970’s. In 2017\, BRTU’s on-the-ground restoration program got a boost with the hire of Christine Brissette\, National TU’s Bitterroot Project Manager. In April 2018\, Christine gave a program on a nascent set of fish screen projects and enormous progress has been made since then! \nCome learn about the projects Christine has been working on in our streams\, and hear what’s on the horizon for restoration in the Bitterroot. SUMMARY:Snow sculpture competition
DESCRIPTION:The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is excited to be joining the Zootown Arts Community Center\, Missoula Parks and Recreation\, and Discover Your Northwest to host a snow sculpture competition on Saturday\, February 22 at the Lolo Pass Visitor Center\, located off U.S. Highway 12 at the Idaho/Montana state line. Sculptors and spectators alike are welcome to come enjoy everything Lolo Pass has to offer during this free\, family–friendly event.\n\nThe event kicks off at 8 a.m. (PST) and lasts until 1 p.m.\, with sculpture judging beginning at approximately 12 noon. Prizes will be awarded to the top three creations. Snow sculpture contestants will be limited to 30 entries\, although an entry may consist of more than one person (ex. a family or group of friends). Interested snow sculptors may sign up at bit.ly/LPVC_SnowSculpt.\n\nThose not interested in competing in the sculpture competition are still welcome to visit Lolo Pass to witness the creation of this beautiful outdoor art.
