Children will soon be formulating their own hypotheses\, experiments\, and documentation in order to participate in a grade-free science fair at the end of the summer.  Be sure to register as this program will get filled soon and we need to know how many supplies to have on hand.  Concepts taught are geared towards ages 8-12\, but younger scientists/siblings 6-7 welcome. \nParents/caregivers must register themselves as well as each child attending.

DESCRIPTION:The Rocky Mountain Laboratories Community Liaison Group (RML CLG) is scheduled to meet on Monday\, Oct. 23. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Laboratories\, 903 S. 4th St. in Hamilton. The public is invited to attend and participate in the meeting. Members of the public must pre-register with Susie Miller (susie.miller2@nih.gov)\, plan to arrive about 15 minutes early\, and bring valid government-issued photo identification for security screening. There is no online option for attending. \nAgenda items include: \n  *   Tick hunting at Mono Lake\, Calif. Tick species found on the islands of Mono Lake\, first characterized by retired RML scientist Tom Schwan in the 1980s\, have not been found anywhere else and provide unique research opportunities. \n  *   Building 34 status report; this is the new animal holding facility. \n  *   Planning and analysis for proposed Building J. This is a planned central location for electron microscopy\, bioinformatics\, genomics and other groups. \n  *   An update on recent activities of RML’s newly formed STEAM Collaboration with Indigenous Peoples Committee. \n  *   Recent RML happenings. \n  *   Open for Q&A. \nThe RML CLG includes representatives from local government\, education\, business\, medical and emergency services\, and community and civic groups. The RML CLG represents a long-term commitment to structured interactions with the community. The group began meeting in 2002.
