DESCRIPTION:Calling all Bitterroot Returned Peace Corps Volunteers! You’re invited to a potluck on Tuesday\, Aug. 25 at the historic El Capitan Lodge at Lake Como\, about 17 miles from Hamilton. All Western Montana RPCVs (and family members) are welcome\, but we’re particularly reaching out to the Bitterroot Peace Corps community\, who may not regularly attend the Missoula-area gatherings. \nThe potluck will run from 5-9pm\, but if you have the flexibility to arrive earlier\, plan to take advantage of the excellent hiking\, mountain biking\, and water recreation opportunities at Lake Como. The area is managed by the Forest Service\, and a recreation pass is required for all parked vehicles; day passes may be purchased at the lake or at Bob Wards in Hamilton\, but all federal park passes (Annual\, Lifetime\, etc.) are honored as well. \nThe El Capitan Lodge is a private facility\, owned by the Hamilton Hikers Club and located on the north shore of Lake Como. DESCRIPTION:BR BCH will hold their final outdoor meeting of the year on Thursday\, August 20\, at the Three Sister’s Group Site at Lake Como. To get there from Hamilton take Hwy 93 south for about 13 miles and turn west onto Lake Como Road. Follow the road for 3.5 miles and the site is on the right\, across from the Rock Creek Horse Camp. A potluck starts at 6:30 p.m.\, followed by the general meeting at 7:00. Bring a chair and your own beverage. Our speaker is Christy Schram-Duggan who will review procedures for handling ticket sales at the Ravalli County Fair. Community volunteers to help with this task are welcome and appreciated\, so please join us for an informative and enjoyable evening. Fair signup slots are available on our website. Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen is a volunteer organization that works to keep trails open for the public. Guests and new members are always welcome!
