Toastmaster Demo Meetings

April 17, 2018 @ 6:45 AM - 7:45 AM

Have you wondered how to achieve more confidence in public speaking or leading others? Have you attended meetings that got out of hand or ran way too long? Have you had a job interview that went sideways? Skills pertaining to these issues and many more will be addressed in the friendly and encouraging process of free “demonstration” Toastmasters meetings held every Tuesday morning at Hamilton Senior Center through April. These hour-long demonstrations will be led by experienced Toastmasters. Basic topics and skills will include Analytical Listening, Thinking Fast, Giving Feedback, and Connecting with Others. These broad subjects are part of the skills needed to develop confidence in public speaking and leading others in your work place or organization. Tricks of time management will be used; this will allow you to get to your job on time.

You will be able to observe these important demonstration meetings and begin to learn a few things that hopefully will inspire you to learn more. Toastmasters has been improving the lives of people of all walks of life for more than 90 years. Toastmasters is known for its public speaking program but has realized the personal development of members through its evolution in both communication and leadership for decades.

Anyone 18 and over can become a member. Individual members can work at his or her own pace but are encouraged by the program and members to move forward, challenging themselves in a very friendly, encouraging and fun process. Toastmaster membership is often supported by employers because the obvious benefits enhance any business or organization. There are 352,000 members worldwide in 141 countries, served by 16,400 clubs.

Questions will be addressed, and through membership, your personal goals can be addressed. Every member has their own story and reasons for their success. The only regret any Toastmaster International member has ever had is that they did not join sooner. These demonstration meetings are appetizers for delicious personal growth. You can simply observe or volunteer to participate. Attendance is not required at every demonstration meeting but encouraged; the more you attend the more you will get out of it. Meetings will begin at 6:45 a.m. and end at 7:45 a.m., Tuesday mornings, April 17 and 24, at the Hamilton Senior Center, corner of North 4th street and Adirondack Avenue, in the large meeting room in the back.
